Krafton has released another major update for its Battle Royale title in PUBG: New State with a ton of new content.
The update v0.9.24 sees the addition of a new game mode in Round Deathmatch. Other than that, the developers have even added some reworks to existing Team Deathmatch mode along with new weapons to play with.
In the patch notes released by the developers, Update v0.9.24’s biggest selling point is the Round Deathmatch, which is a 4v4 game mode with the teams competing in a best-of-seven series.
The teams will compete in a location called Arena, which is Round Deathmatch’s first and only map so far. Just like a Battle Royale game mode, the playzone will be restricted from the start near the center of the map. Then in the next phase, the playzone will be situated around the care package in the Arena’s center.
Similar to Team Deathmatch, players will have weapon presets to choose from before the start of each round. They will also be equipped with 1 grenade, 1 smoke grenade, and 1 flash grenade at the start as well.
In this game mode, players can revive their teammate once they get knocked out, and it will only take about 5 seconds. Plus, if a player dies, they can continue monitoring the game by spectating their teammates.
Other than the introduction to Round Deathmatch, Krafton has slightly tweaked Team Deathmatch with a wider area for its map in Station. Along with that, they have even changed the UI to display more information about the match and its contestants.
Krafton will also launch some new weapons in PUBG: New State like the MP5K 9mm SMG and the Crossbow. Other additional tweaks include a new reload feature for the DSR-1, which allows players to use the gun’s backup magazine.
As far as gun customizations go, the M249 receives a Ballistic Shield customization, which allows players to mount shields on the left and right side of the Handguard. Plus, the newly introduced MP5K also has a Laser Sight customization as well.
Other features of the update include co-op revive/recruit, which allows up to three teammates to join in and complete the task within 4 seconds.
Finally, players can also purchase the Volume 4 of the Survivor Pass featuring Mayhem’s Doug Bikerway, which is the icing on the cake of a packed update that fans should definitely love.
