The Pokemon Company International has released the first English-dubbed trailer for Pokemon Horizons: The Series, as well the opening 11 minutes of the first episode. The company made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, where it also revealed that Ash Ketchum’s last appearance will be released on Netflix on September 9, 2023. While there’s a release date for that, the company did not announce a release date for the English dub of Pokemon Horizons.
Pokemon Horizons: The Series is an ongoing series which has started a new era for Pokemon after the company decided to end Ash’s iconic journey since he finally became a Pokemon master. The new series introduced Liko, a young student from Paldea region with a Sprigatito as companion. The other protagonist is Roy, who owns a mysterious ancient Poke Ball that was gifted to him by his grandfather.
The show is based on Nintendo Switch’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet video games. Both Roy and Liko explore the world alongside the Rising Volt Tacklers who are led by Pokemon professor Friede and his partner Pikachu, who goes by the name of Captain Pikachu.

Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series’ final part will be released on Netflix this September. The show titled Pokemon: To Be a Pokemon Master has 12 episodes and will feature Ash and his Pikachu as the duo looks back at the time they’ve had during their 25-season run and what the future holds next for the legendary duo. The final episodes will be released in English for America and Latin America. We have reached out to Netflix to inquire about the show’s availability in India.
With these two announcements, The Pokemon Company has started its push to bring the new era of Pokemon to Western audiences while also delivering a much-deserved farewell episode for Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, who are undoubtedly one of the most popular duos in not just anime, but also in pop culture.
