Pokemon is one of the most beloved series in the anime genre and it has managed to maintain its popularity over the past 25 years. Many would not know, but Pokemon was first a game before it became an anime series. However, because of the popularity of the animated series, both have always gone hand in hand.
Pokemon Horizons picks up some issues from the game, details
Pokemon recently kicked off its spinoff series, Pokemon Horizons, which features two new protagonists Liko and Roy. We got new characters because Ash and Pikachu bid farewell to the Pokemon series after becoming world champions. This series has also picked up some interesting details from the games as the protagonists are facing same issues as players have since many years.

As spotted by Screenrant, it seems like Liko and Roy have been falling for the oldest trick in the book that is spamming the attack moves. This has been the case for many players as they always go for attack during combat and don’t use other moves which can increase their other stats such as agility, defense, accuracy and more.
However, it is understandable that Liko and Roy haven’t learned the ropes of the trade as they are rookies and have spent mere days with their respective Pokemon. Their lack of experience was displayed in the recent episode of Pokemon Horizons where Liko and Roy were training to become stronger. As part of the training, they entered in a bout against Professor Friede and Captain Pikachu.
Captain Pikachu didn’t go easy on them one bit and was quick to school the duo. As soon as the match started, Pikachu used “double team” which essentially made clones of him all around the arena and Liko and Roy did what anyone would expect, started shouting out their attack moves. Pikachu was just too quick for the Fuecoco and Sprigatito and ended up winning the match with ease.
Even in the games players end up learning the need of these non-attack moves when they are faced against enemies that use these kinds of moves. Non-attack moves help players gain that slight edge over the enemy either by diminishing their accuracy or increasing yours. Such moves can also increase your strength or speed. It will be exciting to see how Liko and Roy grow and develop their skills in the journey ahead.
