How To Get A Lucky Pokemon

Pokemon Go Lucky Trade

You are able to turn any Pokemon into a Lucky Pokemon during a trade. Trading Pokemon is actually the only way for trainers to obtain Lucky Pokemon.

If you want to trade a Pokemon, you need to have someone who is your friend in the game. You must also be within 100m of that friend if you want to trade. (Events will sometimes change this length, but this is the normal length.) You are able to trade 100 times a day, but you cannot trade a Pokemon more than once. If you are trading, make sure it is a Pokemon you won’t regret trading. The amount of Stardust required to trade Pokemon depends on the friendship level of you and your friend. The higher the level, the less Stardust you need.

Once you’re ready to trade, there are a few things you should know. The chance of getting a Lucky Pokemon depends on how long you have had the Pokemon you are trading. The longer you have had it, the better your chances are of receiving a Lucky Pokemon in return.

  • Less than 1 year – 5%
  • 1 year – 10%
  • 2 years – 15%
  • 3 years – 20%

These ages are combined. So, if you are trading a Pokemon you’ve had for two years and your friend is trading one they’ve had for a year, it will equal 3 years.
