Pokemon: Ash Ketchum to Exit the Series, English Voice Actor Shares a Message for Fans; UNITE Crosses 100 Million Downloads

Pokemon is easily one of the longest running animes and also one of most popular out of the lot. For 25 years, it has provided fans with tons of memorable moments with Ash and Pikachu steering the wheel, with Ash recently achieving his dream of becoming the Pokemon World Champion.

Unfortunately, this also means that their journey in the anime has come to an end. Pokemon has announced that Ash and Pikachu will not be a part of the new series that is in the works. Instead, the two will receive a final adventure in the Pokemon World.

This will be done through a special episode series that will take place on Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series in 2023. The new series is expected to arrive on January 13, 2023, so fans get a chance to bid farewell to their beloved characters.

On the topic of Ash Ketchum leaving the series, Sarah Natochenny, the English voice actor for the character has shared a message for the fans. She tweeted that it was an extraordinary journey to have voiced Ash Ketchum for the past 17 years. It doesn’t matter what lies beyond his final chapter as Ash will forever live in the hearts of the fans for generations to come. She will try to keep him present for all in every way she can, she concluded.
