On Friday, Modi, along with Gujarat BJP president CR Patil and chief minister Bhupendra Patel, had held a roadshow in an open jeep from the Ahmedabad airport to the BJP headquarters in Koba.
He held a similar roadshow on the way to Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Dahegam from the Raj Bhavan in the capital on Saturday. Later in the day, the prime minister held another roadshow from Raj Bhavan to Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad in his cavalcade, where he occasionally got down to greet people gathered on the roadside.
The three road shows in two days assume significance at a time when the ruling party has set a target of winning all 182 assembly seats in elections scheduled for later this year. The prime minister addressed the first convocation of the RRU on the outskirts of Gandhinagar on Saturday morning.
Modi dedicated the newly constructed university building to the nation. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present on the occasion.
Later, the prime minister inaugurated the 11th edition of the Khel Mahakumbh, a flagship sporting carnival initiated by the state government in 2010, when Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat.
