Players already know that top of the line tech is being used in the PSVR 2, which will not only elevate the gaming experience for players, but also make lives of developers easier. PSVR 2 is coming exclusively for the PlayStation 5, but many players have been wondering whether it could work on PC too.
The inquisitiveness is justified as the previous generation model could be used on PC to play Steam Games. However, players had to install a mod in order to run the device. Therefore, the question for PlayStation VR 2 support on PC arises.
According to a report by The Verge, the answer is no, as the PSVR 2 did not support PC when they tested it out. SteamVR does not register the PSVR 2 as a VR headset, instead Windows treats it as a secondary display and restricts the resolution to 1080p. It seems as though Sony’s encryption over the USB-C connection on the PSVR 2 does not allow it to register on PC.
Furthermore, the PSVR 2 Sense Controllers aren’t compatible either. Players will now be hoping that someone comes up with a mod to allow the PSVR 2 run on PC soon, and we will just have to be patient for it.
