Pikmin 4: All Onion Locations

Pikmin 4 is finally out and with it a brand-new adventure for the Pikmin. These lovable little aliens have returned with two new types—Ice Pikmin and Glow Pikmin. These new types have made for an exciting addition to the already amazing gameplay of the series.

These Onions—similarly to Fralics—allow you to increase the number of Pikmin you have available to you at your base. If you lose Pikmin, you can always return to the Onion to get more. You can also change types with them. These Fralics are found throughout the many stages the game offers.

Blue Onion (2)

The first Blue Onion you will find is in Sun-Speckled Terrace. It can be found across the pond in this area. If you head to the Rugged Scaffold base and use Ice Pikmin to freeze the water, you can cross the pond and collect this Onion.

This second Blue Onion is found in Serene Shores. You need to head to the Sand Keep base. From there, you will see a wall that can be built. Once that is done, you can send out your Blue Pikmin to go under the water and get this Onion.

Ice Onion

The Ice Onion is located in Hero’s Hideaway. You must obtain the Scorch Guard so that you and Oatchi can pass the Frozen Inferno Cave. Once you have gone through this cave in the area, you will see a floating platform. Jump onto it and destroy the Hydro Jelly that is waiting for you. You can then see the Onion.

Pink Onion

The Pink Onion is located in Primordial Thicket. In order to obtain this, you must complete the main game. Then you will need to complete Louie’s Dandori Battle and move to the Primoral Thicket area. From here, you will see a box on a hill. Head to that box and throw your White Pikmin at the enemies. Then the Pikmin need to push the box down so you can climb up the side. Once this is completed, you will see the Onion.

Purple Onion

The Purple Onion also cannot be unlocked until you’re finished with the main storyline. Once you have done that, you can start on the side story of Olimar’s Shipwrecked Tale. During this part, you can find the Onion by completing 10 Dandori Battles.

Red Onion

The only Red Onion in the game is the first one that you will find. You obtain this Onion during the introductory quest. It is how you will first be able to summon Pikmin and use them throughout the game. It is impossible to miss this Onion.

Rock Onion

This is another Onion you need to beat the game to unlock. Once you have done that, head to Giant’s Hearth and use Bomb Rocks to destroy the barrier blocking this Onion. You can then send your Pikmin to pick it up.

White Onion

This Onion is another one that cannot be unlocked until you have beaten the game. Once that is done, you can unlock the side story of Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale. During this story, you unlock the White Onion by completing five Dandori Battles.

Yellow Onion (2)

The first Yellow Onion you will find is in Sun-Speckled Terrace. This Onion can be found by heading to the electric gate in this area. From there, use Yellow Pikmin to travel through the electricity and turn it off. Then you can travel through and will see a Yellow Onion blocked by a bag. Use your Pikmin to flatten the bag and get the Onion.

The final Yellow Onion can be found in the Blossoming Arcadia area. Near the starting area of this stage, go across the bridge. From there, turn left and look for the dirt wall. You can use your Pikmin to destroy the wall and climb up the hill. You will see the Yellow Onion at the top of the hill.
