Phineas and Ferb Reboot Production Is Unaffected by Ongoing Writers Strike

Disney Channel’s popular animated series Phineas and Ferb is now up for a reboot. But given the nature of the times considering the ongoing Writers Strike by the Writers Guild of America, it is a major question for the fans if the development of the show’s reboot will be affected. Phineas and Ferb creator Dan Povenmire has recently shared an update regarding this issue. Read on to know more.

Phineas and Ferb revival in progress

Phineas and Ferb is being rebooted for Disney Channel after 8 years since the release of the last and the 4th season. Dan Povenmire reportedly, took to TikTok to confirm that the production of the Phineas and Ferb revival had officially begun on May 3rd. Povenmire reportedly assured in the message that the Writer’s Strike, which began on May 2nd, won’t have any effect on the show. Here’s what he said-

“So, today is the first day of our new Phineas writers room, and this morning, after months of very thoughtful conversations about how I can delegate and how I can schedule so that I can run both shows (Hamster & Gretel) without it completely destroying me, my usually very reserved producer Brandy texted me this. [“LET’S DO THIS DOUBLE SHOW CRAZY S—T!!!! WOO HOO!!!!”] Yeah, let’s do this, let’s go!” (transcription via ScreenRant)

Povenmire has also teased that the Phinease and Ferb reboot will have episodes set across different time periods, including the teenage years of the characters. Additionally, Disney had also previously confirmed that Phineas and Ferb will run for at least 40 episodes spread over two seasons.

The Writers Guild of America has been protesting against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The trade association represents all the big production houses of the Hollywood, which includes Disney. Phineas and Ferb would be one show from the house of mouse, whose writers aren’t out there on the pickets, as the production continues to run smoothly for now. While many other upcoming shows have paused production midway due to the absence of their writers, some others like Phineas and Ferb continue with their development.
