Pet Simulator X is a Roblox game that requires patience, persistence, and a little bit of luck to master. Those seeking an even greater challenge, however, may be interested in a different game mode offered by Pet Simulator X: Hardcore Mode.

Unlocking Hardcore Mode can take some time and, like the Trading Plaza, it isn’t available for newer players. In order to access Hardcore Mode, you’ll need to do plenty of grinding. If you’ve put in the time and you’re confident in your abilities, then, here’s how you can unlock and play in Hardcore Mode.

What Is Hardcore Mode In Pet Simulator X?

Hardcore Mode is an alternate game mode in Pet Simulator X that increases the game’s overall difficulty. When a player enters Hardcore Mode, their pets receive a significant debuff to their power, essentially forcing the player to start over. Not even powerful Huge Pets are exempt from this debuff. New pets acquired in Hardcore Mode are slightly larger than their normal counterparts and do not suffer from this debuff.

In exchange for the higher difficulty, Hardcore Mode offers exclusive rewards to players willing to challenge themselves. These rewards include new pets, hoverboards, and increased mastery XP. Players start Hardcore Mode in the Spawn World shop, and must work their way through each biome as usual.

How To Unlock Hardcore Mode

In order to unlock Hardcore Mode, you’ll need to obtain 350 Mastery Points. Mastery can be obtained by leveling up certain skills, which unlock permanent perks for the player. Almost any activity performed in the game will level up a Mastery skill, including breaking objects, claiming pets from the daycare, and hatching eggs. Here are all the skills currently available in Pet Simulator X:

Your overall Mastery is calculated by adding the individual levels of all your skills together. The best way to increase your Mastery is to break objects, then spend coins on hatching new pets. Leveling your Free Gifts skill is also a good way to increase your Mastery, as redeeming gifts is instant and they get renewed every day. If you want to level your Diamond Piles skill specifically, the best place to do that is the Diamond Mine.

Where To Go To Start Hardcore Mode

Once you’ve obtained 350 Mastery, you need to head to The Void. The Void can be accessed via the teleportation menu or through the Hacker Portal in Tech World. Once you’ve entered The Void, head for the purple building on the right. This building serves as the portal to Hardcore Mode. Walk through the doorway and interact with the building. You’ll be asked to confirm that you want to enter Hardcore Mode; just select “Yes” when prompted.

Getting Started In Hardcore Mode

Hardcore Mode acts as a separate, but identical, location within Pet Simulator X. When you enter Hardcore Mode, you’ll be teleported to the shop in Spawn World with zero coins, as though you were logging into the game on a new account. From here, you can grind to obtain currency, hatch new eggs, and unlock worlds as you normally would in Pet Simulator X. If you want to return to Normal Mode, you can do so at any time by opening the teleportation menu.
