Inflation is finally cooling in the US. But has the Federal Reserve really reached the end of its rate hikes? And what does that mean for other central banks? We speak to Susannah Streeter, Head of Money and Markets at Hargreaves Lansdown. She says the Federal Reserve is widely expected to pause its cycle of interest rate hikes, but that many households and businesses are still feeling the pinch of the cost-of-living crisis. “Even though inflation is coming down, it doesn’t mean to say that prices are dropping – they’re just increasing at a slower rate.”
