The artist behind the popular manga series Oshi no Ko is speaking out against leakers. Mengo Yokoyari posted a message on Twitter asking fans to refrain from sharing spoilers from the upcoming chapter.
“I’ve been bothered for years by those awful early spoiler images, especially when they involve my favourite characters,” she wrote. “With the main magazine (Shonen Jump), I can figure out which day to be cautious, but with Young Jump, I wonder which day it becomes risky. I really hope it doesn’t ruin the excitement of reading for the first time. Also, please be mindful not to upload or spread leaked or spoiler-like images. Thanks for understanding.”
Yokoyari’s plea comes as Oshi no Ko is reaching new heights of popularity. The series has been praised for its characters, themes, and visuals. Thanks to the anime adaptation, the manga sales have tripled.
Leaking manga chapters is a big problem that can hurt both creators and fans. Leakers give away spoilers before the official release, and this can ruin the fun for fans who are excitedly waiting to read the whole chapter.
