Oppo introduced the Reno 8 series in May in China which included three smartphones — Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro and Reno 8 Pro+. The company is now planning to unveil a global variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G as it has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. According to a report by GizmoChina, the upcoming smartphone was spotted on Geekbench with a model number CPH2357 that is expected to come powered by an octa-core chipset, backed with a Mali-G610 MC6 graphics unit and 12GB RAM. The Geekbench listing also reveals that the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G scored 898 in single-core performance and 3,555 in multi-core performance and is expected to boot Android 12. The report also mentions that the Reno 8 Pro+ wouldn’t arrive in the Indian market, as the Reno 8 Pro global variant might be unveiled in the country.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G global variant expected specifications
As per the report, the global variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is expected to sport a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display that will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 950 nits. The Chinese variant of the device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, whereas the global variant may come powered by the Dimensity 8100-Max mobile platform, coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The upcoming handset is likely to house a triple rear camera setup that will include — a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone is expected to feature a 32MP Sony IMX709 front snapper and Oppo might also equip it with the MariSilicon X NPU (Neural Processing Unit). The Reno 8 Pro 5G global variant is likely to pack a 4500mAh battery unit and may offer 80W wired fast charging support.
