One of 2023’s biggest movies will come from the ingenious mind of director Christopher Nolan, as he brings an all-star cast for Oppenheimer.
The film stars Cillian Murphy as the titular character J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is known around the world as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.” The famed theoretical physicist is credited for his work on the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan project.
The film is all set to release alongside Greta Gerwig’s Barbie on July 21, 2023. While we don’t have a full-length trailer just yet, the film recently divulged some first look images, as part of Total Film’s upcoming 2023 issue.
Along with Murphy’s look as Oppenheimer, we also get to see some of the other star cast members, which includes Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, and more.

Other than the images, the upcoming issue also features details about the shooting from the main man himself in Christopher Nolan. The popular director claimed that it was one of his most difficult shoots yet. “One of the most challenging projects I’ve ever taken on in terms of the scale of it, and in terms of encountering the breadth of Oppenheimer’s story,” said Nolan.
Furthermore, Nolan’s gripe with CGI has seen him undertake several challenges, when it comes to practical filmmaking. In Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight trilogy director takes it a step further, as he revealed that he shot the historical Trinity test, which was the first nuclear weapon detonation, without the use of any CGI.
To know more about the film and the various technologies employed by Nolan, check out the preview issue, when it drops on December 15.
