OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the smartphone brand will soon launch two new 5G-enabled OnePlus Nord models. “We’re excited to tell you that two more affordable 5G smartphones under the OnePlus Nord product line are coming soon. These products are the next step to making the signature OnePlus experience more accessible than ever,” said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in a blog post.
He also confirmed the names of the two smartphones. One of them will be called OnePlus Nord CE 5G while the other one will be named the Nord N200. “The OnePlus Nord CE 5G, which offers the core OnePlus experience for less, will be released in Europe and India on June 10. The new member of the N series – Nord N200 – will continue to make the 5G experience more accessible in North America,” he said.
There is no word as to whether these 5G-enabled Nord smartphones will be launched in India or not. The “CE” in the OnePlus Nord CE 5G stands for “Core Edition”. “This is a product which really aims to deliver a fantastic essential experience. We distilled the original Nord down to its core elements, and added a couple of extra features to bring you a phone that’s a little more than you’d expect, at an even more affordable price,” he added.
As for the pricing, both the smartphones are expected to cost less than the OnePlus 9 series phones.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be launched at the company’s upcoming Summer Launch Event for Europe and India on June 10, 2021. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord N200 5G will be launched for users in the United States and Canada at a later date.
