OnePlus has started rolling out an OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 for the users of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro globally. Like all its past updates, the OxygenOS 12 update is also being seeded incrementally which means it will reach a small number of users for the next few days. A broader rollout is set to begin in the next few weeks.
The OxygenOS 12 brings lots of upgrades and features to the table and sets the stage for the company’s upcoming unified OS that is expected to debut with the 2022 flagship- OnePlus 10 series. Essentially, Oppo’s ColorOS and OxygenOS are set to merge and will power the next crop of OnePlus devices starting with the OnePlus 10 series that’s expected to launch in early January.
OxygenOS 12 update: What’s new?
The OxygenOS 12 brings Android 12 to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro along with features like the OnePlus Scout, improved Work-Life balance mode, Canvas 2.0 AOD, advanced dark mode, Shelf customizations and improved Game mode.
The new OxygenOS update optimises the desktop and brings in new system design elements. The dark mode now supports three adjustable levels and there are new style options for cards including a dedicated OnePlus Watch card that displays health stats.
The Work-Life Balance 2.0 supports automatic switching based on specific locations or WiFi networks. The Gallery app gets new layout options and a redesign and the Canvas 2.0 always-on display has got new brushes for colour adjustment and stability optimizations.
OxygenOS 12 update: How to upgrade your OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro?
OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS 12 for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro and it will be available for other existing OnePlus phones in the first half of 2022. The phones compatible with the new OxygenOS 12 are OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus Nord 2, OnePlus Nord CE and OnePlus Nord.
You can check if your phone has received the update to OxygenOS 12 by going to the Settings- System- System Updates.
