The One Piece anime has been steadily working its way through the climax of the Wano Country arc’s third act, and the latest episode featured a major Easter Egg that has fans hyped for Luffy’s upcoming Gear Fifth form.
In episode 1069, Luffy is seen exhausted with his Gear Fourth forms. However, he is determined to defeat Kaido, and he winds up for a final punch with a brief montage of his past Gear forms. The highlight also includes a brief glimpse of Luffy’s Gear Fifth form, which has yet to be seen in the anime.

Gear Fifth is a major power-up for Luffy, and it is said to be his most powerful form yet. The form made its debut in chapter 1044 of the manga in March 2022, and in One Piece Film: Red as well.
The Easter Egg has fans excited, and they are eagerly awaiting the anime’s debut of Luffy’s latest transformation. There has yet to be a release date revealed for when Gear Fifth will make its debut, but fans are hoping that it will be soon.
