Nintendo Starts Removing Threads and Banning Accounts on Pokemon Forums Within a Day

Pokemon Forums went live on July 4th, as a one-stop platform for fans to discuss all things Pokemon. However, within less than a day of going live, Nintendo has already started banning and removing threads from the Forum.

Threads and accounts already getting banned in Pokemon Forums

Pokemon Forums has been the culmination of this long-requested feature from Pokemon fans. They finally have one master forum to not only discuss various topics, but also ask question and clear all doubts about the various products of the franchise. The platform has even differentiated topics like video games, mobile games and apps, anime, and news and articles for ease of communication. If you check out Pokemon Forums, you will find questions like “What’s your favorite pokemon?”, “Who is the best Duck pokemon?” and the likes.

However, according to latest reports, some questions posed by users have also been vanishing from the forum, as Nintendo is removing and banning threads. They reportedly are specific to questions like “What Pokemon would be the best at operating a Hyundai 25L-7 forklift?” and “Which Pokemon would you eat for lunch?”. Nintendo has reportedly banned some users from even posting on the Forums.

While the community Rules and Guidelines of Forums does mention no use of “inappropriate themes”, it also adds that the “rules aren’t all-encompassing”. In other words, “staff reserves the right to take disciplinary action should they feel an individual is having a negative impact on the community, even if it’s not outlined above.” Looks like Nintendo is also taking the latter too seriously.
