After launching Madden 23 and unveiling FIFA 23, now it’s time for the third biggest EA Sports series to get its new iteration revealed. We will have our very first look at NHL 23 tomorrow, but you can already have a look at the cover athletes.
According to an official tweet by EA Sports, the NHL 23 reveal trailer will go live on August 25 at 11 am ET/3 pm UTC/5 pm CEST. The reveal trailer is expected to give us a glimpse of the highlighted features coming to the next NHL game, and unveil its release date.
You will probably need to wait a little bit more for the gameplay trailer as Electronic Arts usually ignites the hype with a revealed trailer and then backs it up with small information drops in the following weeks.
Hopefully, the official box art for NHL 23 has already been shared by EA Sports, which reveals two cover athletes similar to the FIFA 23 box art. Trevor Zegras, the young Anaheim Ducks star who has been drafted in 2019 and soon turned into a key player in Ducks is one of the cover athletes for this year’s NHL game.
Standing next to Trevor, you can spot the world and Olympic champion Sarah Nurse, the Canadian ice hockey star who has already achieved stellar trophies with the national women’s team of Canada.
Of course, this is the box art for the X-Factor Edition of NHL 23, but you can probably expect to see either of these superstars in the Standard Edition cover as well.
Electronic Arts usually tended to launch the NHL games in mid-September every year, but for the last two years, the game is launching in mid-October instead. So, it remains unknown whether the developers will be pushed to bring the game as early as next month or we will still need to wait until October.
NHL 23 will still be available for the last-gen consoles, and apparently, the Dual Entitlement feature will still be a part of the plan as the feature has already been confirmed for FIFA 23.
