Need for Speed Unbound Surveying Fans to Determine Post-Launch Content; Multiple Criterion Developers Announce Their Departure

Following much waiting, Criterion Games released the latest title in the arcade racing series, Need for Speed.

Titled “Need for Speed Unbound,” the new racing game sees players take to the streets of Lakeshore in cars designed with smokescreens and street art that glorifies their looks even more. With Unbound taking street racing to the max, there’s never been a better time for fans to return back to the iconic series following some dull releases over the previous decade.

With the game out, fans are wondering what the developers have in store for fans with post-launch content, and it seems like the answer to that question will come from the fans themselves.

As seen in a recent Reddit post, fans of the title have been receiving survey emails from Criterion Games for their opinions on what they want to see with Need for Speed Unbound’s post launch content.

The choices for the survey range from more multiplayer game modes to greater car customization content to even additional campaign gameplay. It’s an interesting approach from the developers at Criterion Games, and it will be interesting to see how that pays off.

Speaking of Criterion, the UK-based EA studio will be undergoing some major changes, as five members from its top brass has announced their departure.

According to Gamesindustry.biz, the list of exits includes Matt Webster, VP and GM at Criterion, Executive producer Pete Lake, Senior Technical Director Andrei Shires, Head of Studio Development Alan McDairmant and Head of Content Steve Uphill as well.

These members have stated that their departures have stemmed from their decision to find greener pastures, and with Need for Speed Unbound out now, this decision seems to have been a matter of time after all.
