NEW DELHI: Moto edge X30 is now official. Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched the world’s first smartphone powered by the recently launched most-powerful Qualcomm processor — Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The all-new flagship processor from Qualcomm is developed using a 4nm process by Samsung based on Armv9 architecture. Qualcomm claims that this new processor offers a performance boost of up to 20 per cent and increases power efficiency by 30 per cent compared to the Snapdragon 888.
Launched in China, the Moto edge X3 sports an OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. The smartphone comes with a 50MP main camera and a 60MP selfie camera at the front. It packs a 5000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. The flagship Motorola smartphone also comes with new wireless connection capabilities which enable users to move their phone’s games to the big screen. Additionally, the Ready for PC functionality lets users instantly connect PCs to 5G networks and share files.
Pricing and availability
Moto edge X30 comes with a starting price tag of 3199 yuan (Rs 37,935). The smartphone is already up for pre-order in China and will go on sale starting December 15. The company has not yet revealed any details about the global launch and availability of the smartphone.
Moto edge X30 specifications
Moto edge X30 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The display is made scratch-resistant with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with 8GB of RAM.
The high-end smartphone comes in two storage variants — 128GB and 256GB. Moto edge X30 runs Android 12 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of MYUI 3.0.
The dual-SIM smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos. The handset also comes with IP52 rating which makes it splash resistant.
Moto edge X30 features a triple rear camera which comprises 50MP main sensor with f/1.88 aperture, 50MP 114° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. This is the first Motorola smartphone to offer a 60MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Moto edge X30 is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 68W TurboCharge support. The company claims that the smartphone can charge from 0 to 50% in 13 minutes.
