Capcom held on March 15 the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak digital event, most notably revealing a release date trailer and new monsters like the Astalos, hyping up fans hoping for a return of the Fated Four from Generations.
The Monster Hunte Rise Sunbreak expansion wil add new characters, a new town hub, several monsters and a new map. Moreover, it’ll launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, so players who prefer portability and those who focus on performance will both be able to try out the new content right away. And the addition of the Astalos is teasing two more monsters to come.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak adds the Astalos, teasing the return of the Fated Four
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will add the Astalos as a new monster. The Astalos originally appeared in Monster Hunter Generations and is part of the Fated Four.
The Fated Four monsters in Monster Hunter explained
The Fated Four are the four flagship monsters of Monster Hunter Generations on Nintendo 3DS: The Gammoth, the Astalos, the Mizutsune, and the Glavenus. Monster Hunter Generations is initially titled Monster Hunter Cross in Japanese, and the game’s cross symbol with its 4 paths symbolizes perfectly the fact that there are four flagship monsters.
The Mizutsune is already in Monster Hunter Rise seeing it fits perfectly with the game’s Japanese folkoric and Youkai themes. And now the Sunbreak extension is adding the Astalos. Hence why it’s highly likely the Glavenus and the Gammoth will be added as well.
Furtheremore, it’s even possible the Fated Four is actually reunited in Sunbreak but weren’t revealed in the trailer and gameplay seen so far. Capcom usually doesn’t reveal all the new monsters appearing in an extension before release.
We’ll know for sure when Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak itself will be released worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 30, 2022. What do you hink of the Astalos joining Sunbreak? Tell us in the comments below! You can catch up on the digital event below if you missed it.
