Monster Hunter Mobile Game Announced from Capcom and Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group

A new Monster Hunter mobile game is in development at Capcom and TiMi Studio Group, the Tencent-owned developer behind Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon Unite.

The yet-untitled game aims to “reproduce the hunting actions that define the Monster Hunter series” on mobile. Unfortunately, the announcement made no mention of a release date or window.

Capcom has been busy with its monster-hunting franchise lately, releasing three Monster Hunter games in the last four years: Monster Hunter World (2018), Monster Hunter Rise (2021), and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (2022). World and Rise also received sizable expansions in 2020 and 2022, respectively.

Monster Hunter World has been especially successful for Capcom. With 18.5 million copies sold, it’s the publisher’s best-selling game ever. Collective sales for the series sit at over 88 million, according to Capcom.

Monster Hunter fans may also be interested in EA and Koei Tecmo’s upcoming competitor, Wild Hearts. According to our Wild Hearts hands-on preview, it “looks like an exciting mash-up of challenging hunting, crafting, beautiful semi-open-world environments, and snappy building mechanics that makes it stand on its own four legs.” Wild Hearts hits PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 17, 2023.
