Modern Warfare 2 Free Multiplayer Week Starts on April 20

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is free to play for a limited period, starting today. The free experience is available to play until April 26.

There are 10 maps available for gamers to try out. A total of 12 game modes are also accessible during this free access period.

Players can team up with friends in 2v2 games in game modes such as Gunfight, which makes its return to Call of Duty. The first team to win six rounds is declared the winner of Gunfight.

Call of Duty players can also try out the Blacksite map during the free access period. Blacksite serves as the new Gulag in the Al Mazrah map of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0.

Activision Blizzard has started this free multiplayer week to celebrate the launch of Season 03 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.

Pelayo’s Lighthouse is a new map coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. As mentioned in the name, it features a lighthouse at the center of a small island with a stormy weather. There are several maintenance buildings surrounding the Main Building.

Season 3 Gets Backlash for Introducing Skins Similar to Old COD Games

Call of Duty’s Season 3 is already getting criticism from fans for the skin rewards that have been added.

Content creator PrestigeIsKey highlighted on Twitter that the new Dr Kushlov skin for the Gromsko operator closely resembles a Dr Karlov operator skin from Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone 1.

Also, Gromsko’s Vaporizer weapon blueprint for the Kastov-762 assault rifle is extremely similar to the original blueprint for Dr Karlov.

Some players also pointed out how the Ghost skin from the Classic Ghost Pack bundle looks identical to the one featured in Modern Warfare 2019’s Ghost Pack Contingency bundle.
