Mid-South Conference Announces Baseball Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Mitch Rogers and Tennessee Southern’s Landon Rogers were named Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Landon Rogers – Tennessee Southern – So. – Outfielder – Olive Branch, Miss.

• Rogers batted .556 (10-for-18) with three home runs and eight RBIs in a four-game series against Calumet (Ind.).
• He recorded multiple hits in three of the four games.
• Rogers drove in multiple runs in two games.
• He hit two home runs in the 23-14 loss in game three.
• Rogers also recorded two triples while finishing with a slugging percentage of 1.389.
• He earns weekly honors for the first time this season and in his career.

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Mitch Rogers – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Jr. – Clarksville, Tenn.

• Rogers picked up two wins in relief over the weekend for the Phoenix.
• He threw two innings allowing one hit and striking out five in an 18-5 win over St. Andrews (N.C.).
• Rogers then came in with a tie game and pitched two scoreless innings while not allowing a hit in a 7-6 victory against Point (Ga.).
• He earns weekly honors for the first time this season and in his career.
