The trilogy of Metal Gear Solid games from the collection showed up on Steam recently. Along with some details about the game, the Steam listing included a disclaimer, which suggested that players will require a controller to play these games.
The Steam page has since been removed by Konami, with the publisher reporting that it is “currently working on releasing the pre-order page for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 on Steam.”
It sure is disappointing for fans of the series to not have keyboard and mouse support for the long-awaited collection. While it’s not a deal-breaker for many, keyboard and mouse could have provided an entirely new experience for players on PC.
It’s to be noted that Konami has yet to clarify or confirm the lack of keyboard and mouse support. However, all signs seem to be suggesting the lack of support to be the case.
Last month, Konami announced the long-awaited remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The title arrives as part of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which features the original Metal Gear 1 and 2, and the Solid trilogy. Along with its release on the PlayStation 5, players can also expect its arrival on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC as well.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 releases for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC on October 24, 2023.
