MediaTek Dimensity 9200 to officially launch on November 8 | Digit

The biggest smartphone chipset company MediaTek will launch the successor of its Dimensity 9000 chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. According to reports, the Taiwanese company wanted to release the next-gen flagship chipset before its rival Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 enters the market in the upcoming weeks. However, whether or not it can take on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s highly enhanced Adreno 740 GPU remains a question. Nonetheless, competition will be tight this time, as both SoCs will likely manufacture on the same TSMC N4 node and not the N3 node as previously expected.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 expected specifications

While MediaTek has yet to announce a launch date for the Dimensity 9200, the company is already sending out press invites for the event. One of those invites has now surfaced online, revealing the date for what will likely be the Dimensity 9200 launch event: November 8. The exact time mentioned for the event is 14:30 to 15:30, presumably Taiwanese time.

The Dimensity 9200 would reportedly share a similar design to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. On the CPU end, it’s touted to sport one Cortex-X3 prime core, three Cortex-A715 mid-cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores. In addition, rumours suggest a new Mali Immortalis G-715 MC11 GPU on the graphical end. It supports hardware-level ray tracing and is supposedly 15% faster and more power-efficient than its predecessor. Also, the AnTuTu listing highlights that there will be a significant performance gain in the D9200 chipset when compared to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000+.
