MCU Theory: Knull, God of Symbiotes, Could Be the Next Big Villain After Kang

Thor: Love and Thunder finally received its first teaser trailer and fans are excited for the new adventures for the popular Asgardian and original six Avenger.

The fourth movie of the series will see Thor being pitted against Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. With Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster by his side, Thor will have his work cut out for him, as Gorr is hungry for the blood of the Gods, and he will be arriving with a ton of kills under his belt, thanks to his All Black Necrosword.

The Necrosword is a weapon used by Gorr the God Butcher in many of his comics storylines. However, before he got his hands on it, the Necrosword was wielded by the God of Symbiotes in Knull, as it was manifested from his shadow.

However, this isn’t the only item in connection with Knull in the MCU. During the post-credits scene of the Eternals, we saw Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman possess the Ebony Blade, before he was cut off by the voice of Blade, played by Mahershala Ali. In the comics, Knull attempted to claim the Ebony Blade during his battle against Whitman in order to become powerful.

It’s very likely that the connection between the two weapons in question to Knull might be a pure coincidence. However, following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems like Marvel Studios might be working on a storyline featuring the Symbiotes.

In terms of threat levels, Knull is right up there with other Marvel supervillains like Thanos, Kang the Conqueror, Doom, Galactus and more. With Jonathan Majors holding down the fort as the big bad of Phase 4, there’s a very good chance that Knull might follow him, as No Way Home teased fans with a post credits scene that featured Tom Hardy’s Venom leaving behind a bit of his symbiote in the MCU.

With a symbiote loose in the MCU, fans might be interested to see Knull bring upon terror, and Kevin Feige has an array of storylines to adapt including King in Black, which will help tie-in Marvel connect other universes including Sony’s Spider-Man world.
