macro: This doctor is using his iPhone 13 Pro Max for eye treatment – Times of India

Apple has introduced an improved Macro mode in the new iPhone 13 Pro. While most new iPhone 13 Pro Max users will be keen on flaunting their macro shots on social media, this doctor in the US is using his iPhone 13 Pro Max for eye treatment. Ophthalmologist Dr. Tommy Korn in a post on LinkedIn shared how he is using the Macro mode of the iPhone 13 Pro Max to compare photos and check for “healing a resolving abrasion in a cornea transplant.”
Dr. Korn also shared some sample images of his patient. The photos showed the eyes in great detail on the macro mode.
“Been using the iPhone 13 Pro Max for MACRO eye photos this week. Impressed. Will innovate patient eye care & telemedicine. forward to seeing where it goes …Photos are from healing a resolving abrasion in a cornea transplant. Permission was obtained to use photos. PS: this “Pro camera” includes a telephone app too,” said the doctor.

The new iPhone 13 Pro series comes with macro photography on the new Ultra Wide camera and up to 2.2x improved low-light performance on the Wide camera. Apple claims that users can capture sharp images and magnify subjects with a minimum focus distance of 2 centimeters. Macro also extends to video including Slo-mo and Time-lapse. iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max also boast a new 77 mm Telephoto camera. This allows users to zoom while recording videos. There’s 3x optical zoom for a total 6x optical zoom range on the camera system.
