macbook: Apple may launch a 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 and M2 Pro chipsets in 2023 – Times of India

Apple might be planning to expand its MacBook lineup with a new 15-inch model. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared some new updates about the upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air on Twitter. According to Kuo, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to roll out a new 15-inch MacBook Air model in the second half of 2023. Earlier, Kuo reported that the mass production of the upcoming laptop is likely to start in the last quarter of 2023. However, correcting his previous speculation, Kuo said that the 15-inch MacBook Air will go into mass production in Q1 2023 and the laptop might launch during Q2 2023.
Previously, Kuo also mentioned that Apple was looking to use its 30W charger to power the laptop despite its larger-sized display. Moreover, he stated that the upcoming laptop might not even be a MacBook Air.
According to XDA Developers, Apple was planning to launch the 15-inch MacBook Air model this year. However, the company decided not to pursue those plans to focus on the MacBook Air (2022). Meanwhile, Apple is set to introduce updated models of its MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 later in 2022. These upcoming laptops are expected to be powered by the higher-end M2 chips, which might debut as the — M2 Pro and M2 Max. The report also claims that Apple might be planning to expand its MacBook lineup with a new 12-inch model which is expected to arrive in 2023 or 2024.
15-inch MacBook Air 2023 expected specifications
The 15-inch MacBook Air that is supposed to launch in 2023 is expected to come with two chipset options — the Apple M2 and the M2 Pro. The variant with the M2 chipset is likely to support the 35W charger while the M2 Pro model might come with a 67W adapter. No other details about the upcoming laptop are not available yet. Kuo also mentioned that he had no other information about the 12-inch MacBook rumour, as well.
