Lord of the Rings: Gollum Goes Gold As Pre-Orders Go Live

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has now gone gold. This means that the game’s development is now complete, and it is ready for physical distribution as well.

As a result, pre-orders of the game are now available, ahead of its upcoming release this May 25. Here’s all you need to know about the different editions of the game now available, their price, availability, platforms and other details.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum was first scheduled to be released during Fall 2022, but was later delayed to May 25, 2023. This upcoming game from Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon will tell the story of what made Gollum, from the time he lost the ring to Bilbo Baggins, to the events of The Fellowship of the Ring.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a stealth-based game, as Gollum finally leaves his cave in the Misty Mountains to go retrieve his “Precious.” Eventually, he was captured by Sauron’s forces, then Aragorn and Gandalf, the heroes of the LOTR franchise. This game will once again let you explore the world of The Lord of the Rings and meet some of your favourite characters, as you play as Gollum, and his better, more innocent alter ego, Smeagol.

Pre-orders for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum are now live for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

A Precious Edition for the Deluxe edition of the game is also available, titled after Gollum’s iconic catchphrase, “My Precious.” It contains a “Lore Compendium,” “Sindarin VO,” the original soundtrack and an “Art Exhibition.”
