James Mangold’s Star Wars Does Not Guarantee Terms Such as ‘Force’ and ‘Jedi’

The Star Wars Celebration event held earlier this years was a treat for the fans. This was the day when they were told that 3 new Star Wars movies are being made. Two movies that has caught everybody’s attention are Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Jedi Order Movie and James Mangold’s Ancient Jedi Movie. Mangold has directed Logan as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Recently, Mangold revealed some interesting details regarding the upcoming movie.

Spotted by ComicBook, James Mangold recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast where he revealed that terms like “Force” and “Jedi” might not be mentioned in his movie. For those who do not know, James Mangold’s movie will be set before any of the Star Wars movies from the franchise, which will be exploring the origins of the “Force” and the Ancient Jedi Order. For context, Mangold’s film will be set 25,000 years before Episode 1.

Coming to the case in point, Mangold was asked whether these terms would exist in the movie, to which he replied that he cannot guarantee it. Mangold added that as this movie is based before the “Jedi”, so fans might experience something that ends up being called “Jedi” in the future. He concludes by stating that most movies will brand themselves once they have “found themselves”, which tends to come later. Check out the full video below.
