Jagged Alliance 3 is a more complex and challenging tactical RPG, with a single encounter taking a turn for the worse and leaving commanders with a skeleton force. But thankfully, a few of the mercenaries players can hire are medics, and their skills will be put to good use throughout the campaign.
Unfortunately, how to heal mercenaries in Jagged Alliance 3 isn’t always clear when players aren’t on the battlefield. There, it’s possible to use medical supplies and action points to heal a few wounds and get a mercenary back in the fight. But elsewhere? It’s tough, and that’s why this guide will teach everyone how to heal mercenaries!
How To Heal Mercenaries In Jagged Alliance 3
Throughout normal gameplay, mercenaries will take severe damage that may put them out of the fight. In some missions, players will fight against animals, which prove extraordinarily fierce and leave wounds with almost every strike. Mostly, players will deal with armed mercenaries and thugs, though.
When a mercenary does endure a severe wound, there are several ways to heal them. For example, while in tactical gameplay, as previously mentioned, players may use a medic and medical supplies to heal minor wounds and buff health points a few bars to keep the fight going. But for more severe injuries, medkits, hospitals, and time will all work wonders. The medkits work during battles, which most players use in a pinch.
But for more extensive wounds, visit a hospital. A hospital will heal the entire team quickly and doesn’t cost a single medical supply from the inventory. Unfortunately, players must own territory with a hospital, which means yet another fight against the enemy.
Alternatively, players can open the Operations menu and select ‘Treat Injuries.’ Players must assign a doctor or any mercenary with a high enough medical skill and choose the injuries to focus on. This operation does cost money, of course, and time, so pay attention to your mercenary contracts.
Best Medics To Hire Early
Early on, when every mercenary on their feet (and in the fight) counts more than ever, hire a medic. There are a few available immediately, and it depends on cost more than anything in the early game.
Perhaps the best medic to hire early is Fox. She’s a kind-hearted mercenary, relatively inexpensive, and has a high medical skill that proves most effective in the early game. Alternatively, players can opt for MD, though he’s a bit more expensive to hire in the early game. His skills, especially medical, are pretty high, and he can train other mercenaries long-term.
