NEW DELHI: To give a boost to the vaccination drive and make precautionary doses more accessible, Delhi government will now conduct inoculation at Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics. For this, vaccination centres will be set up at all mohalla clinics.

After missing out on sharing Covid-19 data on Sunday, the health department on Monday shared that 628 new cases and three more deaths took place on June 26. The fresh cases were detected out of 7,793 tests conducted a day earlier.
The total tally has reached 19,32,026, while the death toll stands at 26,256. On Saturday, the city saw six deaths, while the positivity rate stood at 7.8%. On Friday, there were 1,447 cases and one death, while the positivity rate was 5.98%. On Thursday, 1,934 cases and zero death were reported with the positivity rate being 8.1%. Of the 9,497 beds in hospitals, only 299 were occupied.
For the vaccination process, staff at mohalla clinics would be provided training by resource personnel. Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics would have to provide adequate space for vaccination, counsel the beneficiaries, and ensure that guidelines are followed.
“As soon as the vaccination centres are functional, they will be uploaded on the CoWin portal and beneficiaries will be able to book their slots easily,” said Sisodia. He also directed officials to complete the relevant work soon and get the sites functional on priority.
Though Delhi government schools are used as vaccination centres, vaccination cannot be allowed anymore now that classes have resumed. Since mohalla clinics are located in populous areas with easy access, the government aims to use them to inoculate left out and eligible beneficiaries.
According to the current statistics, 3.49 crore people have been vaccinated, which includes first, second and precautionary doses. While 1.81 crore have been covered with the first dose, 1.52 crore are fully vaccinated. As of now, the number of beneficiaries vaccinated with the precautionary dose stands at 15.46 lakh.
