Pre-Match Analysis:

Overcast conditions broke the spirits of hosts Ireland in the initial overs of the 1st T20I as they lost the first five wickets for just 31 runs and got it into a respectable total of 139 runs with some splendid batting from Barry McCarthy and Curtis Campher who added 57 runs for the 7th wicket with the former went onto score his maiden half-century. Things would have been different if the rain didn’t stop the play at 6.5 overs as their pacers held India for 47 by picking up 2 wickets. Their top-order batters need to show some courage if they want better results.
