Interceptor: Exclusive Trailer and Poster for New Netflix Action Movie

IGN can exclusively debut the new trailer and poster for Netflix’s upcoming action film Interceptor, starring Fast and Furious franchise veteran Elsa Pataky and exec produced by Thor’s Chris Hemsworth.

Pataky trained for nearly six months for her role as Captain JJ Collins, learning over 800 stunt moves. Pataky worked with Stunt Double Haley Wright and Stunt Coordinator Ingrid Kleinig to develop a fighting style that utilized speed and agility to overcome her male opponents since she has a different center of gravity than the men she squares off against.

Extraction director and MCU veteran Sam Hargrave served as the film’s Action Consultant. 

Interceptor’s official plot synopsis says Pataky’s “tough and reality-bruised” Captain Collins “finds herself in charge of a lone nuclear missile interceptor base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after she is wrongfully drummed out of her dream job at the Pentagon. When a simultaneous coordinated attack then threatens the base itself, Collins comes face-to-face with the charismatic yet crooked Alexander Kessel (Luke Bracey), a former US military intelligence officer intent on carrying out an unthinkable plan. 

With only minutes on the clock, Collins must utilize her years of tactical training and military expertise to determine who she can trust and stop Kessel and his covert mercenaries from completing their twisted and terrible mission.”

Joining Pataky and Bracey in the cast are Aaron Glenane, Mayen Mehta, Rhys Muldoon, Belinda Jombwe, Marcus Johnson, Colin Friels, and Zoe Carides.

Interceptor marks the feature film directing debut of novelist Matthew Reilly – author of the Jack West Jr. series – who co-wrote the original screenplay with Stuart Beattie.

Beattie is also one of the film’s producers along with Michael Boughen and Matthew Street. In addition to Hemsworth (who is married to Pataky), the executive producers include Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero, Kathy Morgan, and Peter D. Graves. 

And while Interceptor may be set in a remote US base, the film was shot in Australia with largely local talent in front of and behind the camera.

Interceptor debuts exclusively on Netflix on June 3.
