Insomniac Music partners with Slip.stream to provide ‘claim-free’ music to 200k+ creators, brands, businesses – Music Business Worldwide

Insomniac Music Group, which houses a number of labels in the electronic music space, has teamed up with royalty-free music startup Slip.stream to provide claim-free music for more than 200,000 creators on the latter company’s platform.

The partnership covers Insomniac’s catalog, including songs from over 120 artists. They will be made available to Pro and Commercial subscribers on Slip.stream and creators can sign-up free with access to the rest of the Slip.stream catalog.

Insomniac is known for its music distribution, publishing, label management, sponsorship, and festival/club integration services. The music group owns labels including Insomniac Records, HARD Recs, Bassrush, Factory 93, and artist-driven imprints like NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations, Wax Motif’s Divided Souls, and Jericho’s NIGHTMODE.

“Making Insomniac’s music available for our creators to safely use in their content is a massive step forward in our mission to bridge the world of user generated content with labels, publishers, and artists.”

Slip.stream — which describes itself as a “creator safe music platform” — has over 65,000 tracks, 60,000 sound effects, and over 200,000 creators on its platform.

“Making Insomniac’s music available for our creators to safely use in their content is a massive step forward in our mission to bridge the world of user generated content with labels, publishers, and artists. I’m excited to see what our creators do with Insomniac’s incredible catalog of songs,” said Slip.stream co-CEO Dan Demole.

Meanwhile, Slip.stream, backed by Sony Music Entertainment, Third Prime and Lightshed Ventures, has also partnered with FUGA for its Licensease API technology, allowing it to protect Insomniac’s copyrights on YouTube and for creators to safely use the music and monetize their videos.

“Our integration with FUGA opens up endless opportunities for us to deliver top quality music to creators while creating new monetization and marketing opportunities for artists,” Demole added.

Joe Wiseman, Director at Insomniac Music Group, echoed Demole’s sentiments, stating that the partnership is paving the way for a future that aligns with their core vision.

“The complexities of traditional music licensing can be challenging, but our collaboration with Slip.stream and FUGA has brought about a game-changing solution.”

“The complexities of traditional music licensing can be challenging, but our collaboration with Slip.stream and FUGA has brought about a game-changing solution. By leveraging technology, we’re creating opportunities for creators to thrive and new ways to support our talented artists,” Wiseman said.

Zach Koche, Business Development Director, Americas at FUGA, said”Insomniac is a highly innovative partner, and by working with them and Slip.stream, FUGA is proud to be actively working towards a more progressive, creator-friendly industry where the process for using our clients’ content is streamlined and simplified.”

The partnership follows FUGA and Insomniac’s alliance in November, providing Insomniac and its brands access to over 260 DSPs globally.

The alliance also saw Insomniac using Downtown Music Holdings-owned FUGA’s sync and audience engagement services and its extensive trends and analytics platform.
