Immortals of Aveum First Look Gameplay Revealed

Ascendant Studios has just released the first look at the gameplay of their upcoming game, Immortals of Aveum. The game features an FPS playstyle but not with guns, instead, players use magic to fight the Everwar happening in the world of Aveum.

There are six minutes of gameplay to unpack in the latest trailer which features action-packed combat. It is filled with a variety of spells, runes and magical throwables against several enemies.

There’s a bit of cinematic mixed in at the start and end of this trailer, featuring Gina Torres, who is best known for her work in the legal drama TV series called Suits.

This first look at the gameplay revealed that there are three major types of magic which are called red magic, blue magic and green magic. Force is the blue magic, Life is the green one while Red is naturally the chaos magic in Immortals of Aveum.

There are many sigils, runes, rings, totems, and spells to encounter in this trailer. A look at the inventory menu also revealed that players will get to unlock more powerful spells and equipment in their journey through exploration, upgrading and crafting.

It’s clear to see that Immortals of Aveum features fast-paced combat gameplay and there is plenty of more to unearth about the next EA Originals game.

Interestingly, the trailer shows gameplay without the HUD on the screen, so it’s hard to tell how much damage the player is inflicting on these enemies, how efficient some of these spells are and also the damage being dealt to the player in this trailer.

However, players did get a look at the HUD on the Twitter account where there are clips featuring various areas of the game. There’s also a clip which shows the HUD, shedding some light on how you can see enemy health bars and the magic slots at the disposal of a player.

Immortals of Aveum will release on July 20 and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
