Solar Opposites just got a new lead voice actor – none other than Dan Stevens.
The Beauty and the Beast star will take over from Justin Roiland as Korvo, the grouchy alien in ceremonial robes who rather loudly claims to hate Earth.
The show addresses Korvo’s voice change with a neat skit in which Terry (voiced by Thomas Middleditch) accidentally throws a dart into Korvo’s neck, changing his voice (and accent) forever.
Here’s our first look at Dan Stevens in character as Korvo:

Korvo was originally voiced by series creator Justin Roiland, who was removed from the show, as well as its sister show Koala Man, in January 2023 after he was charged with domestic violence. The charges have since been dropped.
Roiland was dropped by several companies after the charges came to light, including Adult Swim where he served as executive producer and voice actor on Rick & Morty.
He also resigned from Squanch Games which released Roiland’s recent FPS game, High on Life.
Stevens will now take over as Korvo opposite Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone, Mary Mack, and Sagan McMahan.
“Solar Opposites” centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome,” reads the show’s official synopsis. “Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food, and fun stuff.”
The upcoming fourth season will “pack up the sci-fi and get normal… for a second.” But the show also promises to get back to classic Solar Opposites chaos, some mayhem in The Wall, and even some all-new Silvercops adventures.
Season 4 of Solar Opposites will premiere on August 14, 2023, with 11 episodes, followed by a Valentine’s Day Special in 2024.
IGN’s Solar Opposites Season 1 review gave it 6/10 and said: “Rick and Morty fans would do well to keep their expectations in check when hopping over to Solar Opposites. Despite being helmed by two series veterans, and despite its inescapable similarities to Rick and Morty, this animated sitcom is neither as clever nor as hilarious.”
