With Summerslam taking place in Detroit later this weekend, WWE has teamed up with 2K Sports to give fans free access to WWE 2K23 on Xbox. Available as part of Microsoft’s Free Play Days promotion, WWE 2K23 is temporarily free to any Xbox users with a Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The popular WWE video game is free from now until 8am BST UK time on the morning of August 7, so you’d better act fast if you want to enjoy some free virtual wrestling action.
To access the game on Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One, simply sign in to your Xbox account, visit the WWE 2K23 store page and click the install button.
“To download on console, click on the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and enter the Gold member area to locate the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S,” Microsoft explains.
If you want to continue playing after the free period comes to an end, WWE 2K23 is currently available at a discounted price.
If you’re not a wrestling fan, then the good news is that WWE 2K23 isn’t the only game available for free this weekend.
Xbox Gold subscribers can also download and play Descenders and Dragon Ball FighterZ at no charge, but only for a limited time.
Descenders is an excellent downhill biking game with procedurally generated stages for near unlimited replayibility.
“Descenders is an intense biking game filled with fast-paced downhill action and extreme stunt capabilities,” Microsoft explains.
“Experience different worlds that are procedurally generated – which means no two tracks are ever the same! Challenge yourself with new obstacles, jumps, and tricks every time you play.”
Dragon Ball FighterZ, on the other hand, is a 2D fighting game with fast-paced action, flashy special moves and superb cartoon visuals.
“Featuring a roster of your favourite Dragon Ball characters with a 3vs3 tag/support system, relive some of the most epic battles from the anime or unleash your fighting spirit with a large assortment of characters.
“Create a team with classic fan-favourite characters such as Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo, or mix and match with villains such as Cell and Frieza.”
