Availability of these new features
The report mentions that these new features are now being rolled out and users will be able to find them if they are on the latest version of Edge. However, the new features might take some time to show up if you have already created collections before. The existing collections created by the user need to be upgraded to support the new features.
Following content creators through Edge’s Collection feature
Microsoft is gradually rolling out this feature which might be one of the “more interesting features,” the report suggests. The Edge browser will now allow users to follow content creators while visiting their page(s) on the internet to keep them updated about new content. However, this is something that can be done on any browser, but Edge’s Collection feature brings all the creators you follow under one roof.
Initially, this feature will be supported on a handful of websites and more of them are expected to be added eventually. Microsoft has confirmed that Edge’s Collection feature will support YouTube, TikTok and Bili Bili at first and the company plans to extend its services to other websites as well. This feature was first discovered in January and Microsoft is finally making it available.
Microsoft Edge | Follow and get updates about the content you love
How does it work
Users can click the Collections button present on the Edge toolbar to find the latest content from the creators they follow, regardless of the website that they’re on, once they start following someone. This feature will help users to stay updated with the latest content without needing to visit every individual website.
What is the new inspiration feed on the Edge browser
Inspiration Feed is another new feature that Microsoft has added to the Edge browser’s Collection tab. Apart from saving chosen content, this feature will also recommend things based on what users have already added. For example, if users decide to visit a collection of tourist spots in a city, Edge will now recommend other spots that are nearby.
A new button to add images to Collections directly from the web
Another new feature has been added to Edge’s Collection tab which will allow users to quickly add images they find on the web to a list. Users can now hover over an image where they will now find the button to add that image to a collection while they’re browsing the web.
Bing Visual Search
Apart from these, Microsoft is also including the Bing visual search in the Edge browser. Users can hover their mouse cursor over an image and click on the Bing visual search option to look for more information regarding the photo. For example, users can search the web to buy a pair of shoes that they found online using the Bing visual search.
