Hayley Atwell compares her Mission: Impossible 7 character with MCU’s Peggy Carter

Hayley Atwell can currently be seen in Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One which is now running in theatres. However, pop culture fanatics might know her better as Agent Carter from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally in a recent interview, Atwell was asked about what a hypothetical crossover of her two characters pan out like. And here’s what she had to say.

Hayley Atwell on Grace and Peggy Carter

Atwell divulged to ScreenRant how she thinks her Mission: Impossible 7’s character Grace, can be Peggy Carter’s “naughty” younger sister. Grace is essentially a thief in Dead Reckoning, who ends up partnering with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, after multiple rounds of betrayal.

Speaking about her character, Atwell explains that Grace is “spontaneous”, and unsure, while Peggy Carter is almost like the flipside of the same coin, only much more controlled, and in tune with her value system. Atwell even believes that Peggy Carter can even be a good mentor to Grace, not to mention both the characters’ propensity towards getting involved in fights and challenges. Here is what she told ScreenRant:

We last saw Atwell in the MCU in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, in a short cameo as Captain America of the Illuminati. In a recent podcast Atwell expressed her frustration over her character’s fate in Doctor Strange, and it definitely resonates.
