Halo Infinite studio, 343 Industries recently took to Twitter to clear up rumours about the company no longer being behind the development of the game. Studio head, Pierre Hintze shared a message on the platform, stating that “Halo and Master Chief are here to stay. 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great.”

The rumours originated from the recent layoffs of 10,000 people at Microsoft. Many employees from Xbox Game Studios, The Coalition, 343 Industries, and Bethesda were let go by the tech conglomerate. Even Halo Infinite director Joseph Staten reportedly left 343 Industries to work with Xbox publishing. These events led to rumours that 343 Industries would no longer be the lead developer for the Halo franchise. The belief was that the studio would instead assist third-party studios in making new Halo games.
However, 343 Industries has stated that these rumours are not true and that it will continue to develop the Halo franchise. The message shared by the company states that it will focus on creating “epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great.”
