Although only just announced, an industry insider claims that Valve and Sony have struck a deal to bring the hugely popular Half-Life: Alyx to PlayStation’s upcoming VR2 headset.
Alongside the announcement of the PS VR2, Sony also revealed Horizon Call of The Mountain, an upcoming VR game set in the same universe as Horizon Zero Dawn. According to Sony, this original game is being built specifically for PS VR2, but a release date is still unknown.
Horizon has become one of PlayStation’s biggest exclusives, with a sequel to Zero Dawn now only a few weeks away, so it should come as no surprise that a dedicated VR game set in the same universe is in development for the PS VR2. But what can fans expect in terms of other titles coming to Sony’s new VR headset?
Well, if rumours are to be believed, one of the biggest VR games around could be coming to the PS VR2 in the future.

Half-Life: Alyx Coming To PSVR2 According To Insider
According to @Shpeshal_Nick, a reliable insider and leaker, Valve and Sony have struck a deal to bring Half-Life: Alyx to the PS VR2 at some point in the future.
Twitter user and YouTuber @BenjiSales recently pondered the idea of Half-Life: Alyx coming to the PS VR2, stating that the re-release is a “must”. This was then picked up by industry insider Nick, who claims to have been told by an anonymous source that Sony and Valve have worked out a deal to do just that.

Valve and Sony working together isn’t a stretch either, as we’ve seen more and more PlayStation exclusive titles make their way to PC in recent months. Triple-A titles such as Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone are all available on Steam, with God of War joining the line-up in just a few weeks.
Playing Half-Life: Alyx on the PS VR2 could still be some time away though, as it doesn’t have a set release date just yet. However, rumours suggest that the headset is about to enter mass production in China, meaning a 2022 release could definitely be on the cards.
