Developer Player First Games has announced via a new teaser trailer that Gizmo and Stripe, the two beloved characters from Gremlins, will be coming to MultiVersus ‘very soon’. Gizmo will be the first character added to MultiVersus’ ever-expanding roster next Tuesday, September 7th.
However, the development team has not revealed when exactly Stripe will appear in MultiVersus. Although the firm release date for Gizmo has been set, fans would love to see these two characters arrive in the game together. Unfortunately, both Players First Games confirmed that Gizmo will be available before the main protagonist of Gremlins, Stripe. “We’ve got a little, fluffy surprise headed your way on Tuesday!” the announcement reads.
Gizmo is one of the prominent characters from Joe Dante’s critically-acclaimed comedy series, Gremlins. Having been listed on leaks before, Gizmo has been confirmed to join the roster on MultiVersus next week. The original rumor suggest that Gizmo would simply be a skin for Stripe, but game director Tony Huynh has since stated that Gizmo and Stripe will be two separate characters, each having their own skills.
The list of playable characters coming to MultiVersus ‘very soon’ includes Black Adam from the DC universe and the grandfather of Morty, Rick Sanchez. In other MultiVersus news, the chunky version of Buggs Bunny, Big Chungus, which became popular as an internet meme back in 2017, could be coming to the game in the future too, according to recent rumors. Additionally, it was rumored that Jhonny Bravo, Gandalf, Sub Zero, and Harry Potter would appear in MultiVersus at some point in the future.
MultiVersus has been quite popular among players as a free-to-play fighting game since the beginning of the open-beta phase on July 26th. Then Warner Bros’ well-received platform fighter launched its first season with a sizeable cast of playable characters across different franchises, including Batman, Buggs Bunny, Shaggy, and even Reindog. MultiVersus looks set to continue this trend as the developer team renewed their intention to add more characters to their game in the future.
