A cinematic adaptation of the Sony PlayStation video game series Gran Turismo is finally headed to the big screen in August 2023. Gearing up for the release, Sony released received two new images of David Harbour’s character in the movie. In addition, it also offered a glimpse of the one of the racing tracks. But this is not all as Sony Pictures also revealed the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the inspiration for the Gran Turismo movie. Meet Jann Mardenborough, the man who inspired the Gran Turismo movie in the latest trailer
Gran Turismo is one of the most anticipated movies for gaming and sports fans in 2023 because it is based on a true story. Jann Mardenborough, the real-life inspiration for the upcoming movie, is a British race car driver. Jann started his racing journey as a Gran Turismo video game professional.
Sony has already teased the storyline in the first proper trailer of the upcoming movie. However, the trailer did not directly mention or talk about Jann. Now, Sony Pictures has released a video with the title “Gran Turismo Vignette” featuring the real-life Jann Mardenborough. Mardenborough is in fact working on the movie as a stunt driver. Speaking about the movie, Mardenborough said, “Arriving on set, it’s very surreal. The scale and attention to detail in the cars…they blew my mind.”
The Gran Turismo movie stars Archie Madekwe as Jann Mardenborough, alongside David Harbour and Orlando Bloom as Jann’s coach and mentor. The movie also stars Geri Halliwell Horner playing the love interest as Lesley Mardenborough in the movie. Halliwell is the spouse of Christian Horner, the current Team Principal of the Red Bull Formula 1 team.
New images of David Harbour also surfaced online from the movie via ScreenRant. Harbour plays the character of Jack Salter, the coach of Jann Mardenborough in the Gran Turismo movie.
