Google previewed the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature for Google Meet’s desktop version on Chrome and the feature is finally rolling out to a select group of Google account users.
The search engine giant has officially confirmed the rollout of the new PiP for Meet on desktop along with the ability to pin multiple video feeds via an official blog post.
According to the blog post, the feature is a Rapid release and will be available to all Google Workspace customers as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers along with personal Google Account users slightly over the next 15 days.
Also, the feature will be available by default and there’s no admin control required for this.
The post also notes that the PiP feature on Google Meet web via Chrome will allow users to see up to four video tiles from the meeting participants in the popup window at a time. Also, like any other PiP mode, users can move and resize the popup windows at their convenience.
To enable PiP mode while taking Google Meet call on the web, users can click on three dots next to the hangup button at the bottom and then click on the ‘Open picture-in-picture’ option.
Additionally, users can now also pin multiple video feeds at a time allows them to combine content and people as they want.
Meanwhile, Google has also added a couple of other features to Google Meet which includes the ability to automatically remove reverberations, remove the user from the call and more.
