Google Pixel fold launch reportedly delayed – Times of India

Google is expected to launch its first foldable smartphone this year. Likely to be called Google Pixel Fold, the company is said to launch the smartphone later this year. However, a new online report now suggests the company might delay the launch of its first foldable smartphone.
According to a report by The Elec, Google has delayed the launch of its first foldable smartphone. The report adds that the company is delaying the launch due to some issues with the smartphone. As per the report, the yet to launch foldable smartphone of the company is not as complete as the tech giant wishes it to be.
Ross Young, Chief Executive Officer of Display Supply Chain Consultants suggests that the launch of foldable smartphones from Google has been delayed till next spring.
Google is said to have a smaller cover display as compared to the Galaxy Fold 4. The Google Pixel Fold is tipped to come with a smaller 5.8-inch cover screen with a wider aspect ratio.
The foldable smartphone from Google is expected to be powered by the company’s own custom-made Tensor chipset. The smartphone is also said to ditch the 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor which the tech giant used in the Pixel 6 series. Instead of the Samsung sensor, the foldable Google smartphone is likely to have a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor, which is also supposed to be included in the Google Pixel 6a. Google Pixel Fold is also said to come equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX386 ultra-wide camera and an 8MP Sony IMX355s front-facing camera.
