The highlight of Tensor is that it can process Google’s most powerful AI and ML models directly on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, said Google. “You’ll see a transformed experience for the camera Camera, speech recognition and many other Pixel 6 features,” it added.
While Google hasn’t revealed the entire hardware specifications of the phones, it said that the Pixel 6 Pro will come with three cameras that will have a telephoto lens with a 4x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Pixel 6 will skip the telephoto sensor.

As for the design, the front of the phones look very similar and will come with a centrally located punch hole display. At the back, there will be a rectangular protruding camera bar on the top part running across the entire width of the phone. The only way to differentiate between the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is that the Pro version will have more space above the camera bar. Both the phones will come in three colour options. The Pixel 6 Pro comes in a light polished aluminum frame while the Pixel 6 has a matte aluminum finish. On the front, there’s no notch on the display but the bezels appear quite thick.
Powered by the Android 12 operating system, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will flaunt a ‘Material You’ interface. If you are already bored with Dark Mode then Material You is Google’s new design template. The UI will be able to select and blend colours as you want making every device look unique with the new Material You design language.
The phones are powered by Google Tensor chipset and there’s support for 5G. With the new chipset, Google claims that the Pixel 6 series phones will be able to click better photos and is more secure with Titan M2.
“Tensor enables us to make the Google phones we’ve always envisioned — phones that keep getting better, while tapping the most powerful parts of Google, all in a highly personalized experience. And with Tensor’s new security core and Titan M2, Pixel 6 will have the most layers of hardware security in any phone,” said Google in its official blog post.
