God of War: Ragnarok has been flying off the shelf, ever since the PlayStation title dropped earlier this year.
With the sequel to the Game of the Year winning title on track becoming Santa Monica Studios’ recent critical darling, fans are wondering what the PlayStation developer has in store for them. And it seems like director Eric Williams might have the perfect suggestion that would blow the minds of gaming fans.
Williams recently joined as a guest on the PS I Love You XOXO podcast with the Kinda Funny Games crew to talk about God of War: Ragnarok’s development and success. During their chat, the director mentioned his love for the popular Konami franchise Castlevania, with Williams even playing the title on Ragnarok’s launch date.
After confirming that God of War: Ragnarok won’t be receiving any DLCs, Williams teased the idea of Konami giving the keys to the Japanese franchise to Santa Monica Studios, with the director begging fans to voice their support for the idea.
There hasn’t been much going on with Castlevania at Konami, with the last mainline of the series in Castlevania: Lord of the Shadows 2 back in 2014.
While the franchise received an animated adaptation on Netflix, fans want to see the series return to its gaming roots, and they would definitely jump at the idea of Santa Monica Studios working on the next title.
While there haven’t been any talks about the future of Castlevania, Williams’s recent statements could spring up a surprise that fans may have never imagined before.
